Project Settings
Centralized configuration in the Unreal Editor settings for data tables, default fonts, and per-language font overrides.
Overview
All system configuration is centralized in the Unreal Editor settings panel:
- Go to the top menu: Edit > Project Settings.
- On the left panel, scroll down to the Game section.
- Click on Localization System to open the configuration panel.
Available Properties
Localization Data Table
Assign the DataTable asset containing your translations imported from your CSV file.
Default Global Font
Define the default typography applied to all languages using the Latin alphabet (English, Spanish, French, German, etc.).
Language Specific Fonts
A Dictionary Map (TMap). Add a row for each language code (e.g., ja, zh, ar) with its dedicated Font Asset to automatically fix missing glyphs.
Font Management & Fallbacks
When switching to a language with special non-Latin glyphs (such as Japanese or Arabic), the centralized font manager automatically detects character ranges and swaps active UI font assets without breaking layout bounds or widget styling.
